My White Wolf

So bet you are wondering why I have been sooooooo quiet lately. Well remember a while ago I was looking at buying a wolf dog .. well, after searching and searching I finally found my perfect pup. He is totally adorable but is only 5 weeks old at the moment. I can’t bring him home until beginning of July but I am SO damn excited I am ready to burst. I go and see him each weekend and this weekend we really bonded.
I am also steaming ahead with my coursework, and just have two assignments and one main exam to go … and then I’M FINISHED!! Fingers crossed I get my Diploma before the pup arrives - otherwise I can kiss my studies goodbye. This pup will grow to about 26 inches at the shoulder and could weigh around 45 kilos plus!! Yep I chose the bruiser of the bunch but he is exactly what I want and need.
Big thank yous to those few who have sent me gifts and money for my new arrival. I have bought tons of books, some brilliant toys and I have seen a gorgeous collar that I will get just before I go to pick him up.
Hugs to you all… and fear not, business as usual - nothing will change for my regulars! mwah!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww he’s soooooooooooo cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute
I highly recommend ‘The Dog’s Mind’ by Dr Bruce Fogle. Once you understand how the dog thinks and you can communicate with him on his level you can train him so much easier and quicker. Happy dog = happy owner.

I have just read Jan Fennells book the dog listener and its fantastic. Really easy steps to ensure I remain Alpha purely with positive reinforcement. Im about to start another book of hers. Im getting her video too. Yes I have named him. His name is NICO ;). Ill have a look at Bruce Fogle too :)

He looks great Cindy and I suppose he’s been doing this quite a lot to you when you’ve gone to visit him
he he. So, soon you’ll have another mouth to feed - one more friend for Mr Gumbert and the gang
You said you’ve called him Nico - that’s a cool name btw.

Anyway, best o’luck with the diploma.

Positive reinforcement works wonders. I ignore them if they are bad and I give praise and attention when they are good.
I do it with my dogs too.

He looks gorgeous, would not be without my two fur babies. Jan Fennells book is fantastic, her DVD is probably a waste of money if you have read the book as it is just a repeat (have both). I had a white German Shepherd once and I am just sitting here smiling to myself, white dogs LOVE to get dirty ;)

I really am so excited about getting him home, I’m about to wet myself. Good job I have big bath tub, but not sure how to get him in and out when he is fully grown.. I don’t doubt he will get mucky - I guess even worse than a German Shepherd as mine has arctic wolf in him (evidently they just LOVE to dig up gardens LOL). Any tips on keeping double coated long haired dog coats clean? anyone? anyone??

He is gorgeous! Has he got a name yet?
What? Wolfie you say? ;)
I miss my doggy ever so much, have been thinking about adopting another one more and more…
Furry friends are the best :)

Don’t bother trying to keep him clean ;) do get him used to taking a bath at a young age though. A big dog sitting well behaved in a bath is one thing, a big dog causing a fuss and trying to get out, now that’s something completely different.

Does that breed like water?
If they like water bathing him will be so much easier. My Wes will happily follow me into the shower cubicle and when he was younger and nimbler he would jump into the bath with me.
He loves being bathed, he loves being blow dried…which is just as well because he loves mud and dirty ponds and puddles.

yeah anna, evidently they totally LOVE water but I can already imagine mine will only prefer the brown type LOL
